Vendor Relations Consultant
Monitor, develop and improve existing vendor relationships, and develop new vendor relations.
Review and assess Overseas (China) vendor qualifications and requirements.
Analyze vendor business models or operating procedures. Interview vendors and visit their plants and
distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices. Perform and regularly update
detailed risk assessment for strategic, operational, transactional and compliance risk. Evaluate potential vendors
on basis of price, quality, reliability and speed of delivery.
Attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn about new industry trends and make contacts with
Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable prices.
As needed, review, amend, and negotiate contracts with vendors.
Ensure that vendors comply with terms and conditions of their contracts, and craft and negotiate solutions for
Meet with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective
action. Help develop and maintain company procurement policies and procedures. Based on company stated
product needs, locate and investigate qualifications of vendors for new products (e.g., molecular sieve
producers, PTFE producers for heat sealing equipment, etc.), and establish direct purchasing relationships.
Help establish foreign office for direct purchase of products from China.
Travel to Far East no more than twice a year.
Requires Bachelor's or higher degree in Business, Law, Marketing or related.
